Stacy A Pattillo
Stacy is a self-proclaimed "okie grown yogini." She began practicing yoga when she was 40 years old with Kundalini yoga. She discovered through using specific breathing techniques and kriyas (exercises/movements/locks) that she experienced positive changes in her body and mental attitude. In 2003 her yoga path led her to the Ashtanga Yoga Studio at its previous location on White Street where she took her first class with Ray Eppler. She was immediately hooked. Since then she has established a regular daily ashtanga yoga practice.
Stacey's main influences are her beloved teachers Andrew Eppler and Jennifer Engleman, as well as the many students that come to the studio. In 2004 she began substitute teaching for Andrew during his world travels, eventually taking over the Sunday Primary Series class. In 2007 she studied for 4 weeks at the Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute in Mysore, India with Saraswati (Pattabhi Jois' daughter). Since then she has traveled to India and Asia practicing yoga with many teacher including, Danny Paradise, David Williams, David and Doug Swenson. Her main goal in Ashtanga Yoga is to promote a safe, graceful practice as the body changes with age and of course to continue to be enlightened by other cultures through world travel.
